First of all I would like to inform you that currently I'm working on new blog design so posts would come out on about week basis.
You have to check out 100 Things I’ve Learned About Photography by Martin Gommel published on Digital Photography Shool. This article rocks! BTW this is a great site - you can find there some begginer tips but also some advanced articles - worth to spend some time.
Next I would like to show you a video by Don Giannatti of shooting a model named Cheyenne. You can learn a lot. I like the concept showed in last part of video - I should try it myself. Don is a great guy - he does some great summary about destroying models carrier in this movie. Just watch it.

animoto.com
Looking for extraordinary way to present your pictures? Maybe a dynamic movie with some background music? Check out Animoto! It's the coolest site I've found recently. You can create a movie from your pictures imported for example from flickr. It's a real fun! Although you should reserve some time for it - whole process lasts "a while". It's beta version - I hope that performace will be improved in final release. For now on check out video I've made with my Tour de Pologne 2007 photos from flickr:

Flickr: The Commons
Check out the new Flickr project - The Commons. This is only a pilot for time being but it's already awsome. All pictures come from The Library of Congress. There are two galleries at this time: 1930s - 40s in color and News in 1910s. Warning! When you start you can lost great part of a day to it! But it's weekend...

Photoshop TV
There is a mistake in yesterday post, spoiler to be true. Of course the movie is from Photoshop TV, not from the Layers TV. Photoshop TV it's an another Scott Kelby's project. Layers TV it's "everything Adobe" but Photoshop TV it's only about Photoshop. You cant find there some killer tips about Photoshop, and Scott Kelby is one of the hosts! Everytime there is a big pack of knowledge and a lot of humor. Check it out!
Not decided yet? Here is another episode, watch it and go for it:

site of the week
Today I would like to introduce to you a Layers magazine. Have you heard a name Scott Kelby? Greatest guru of Photoshop I think. Layers magazine is his idea. It's not only regular paper magazine (I didn't get my hands on it - it's not selled in Poland), but also a huge website with many goodies :).
First of all it's a great archive of tutorials of "everything Adobe". They have 252 video tutorials (here)! It's really a top quality and it's free! If you want to see what I am writing about just see tutorial about ps lighting effects.
Next big thing about this site is that they have their own internet TV called Layers TV. Shows are once a week and full of useful PS (photoshop) tips. Here is sample episode (in about a middle there is interview with Joe McNally about shooting with one strobe - really cool stuff):
Like it? So what are you waiting for? Go explore Layers magazine!

voigtlander bessa
Voiglander bessa - camera that used my grandfather and probably also my grand-grandfather. It's about 70 years old. More shots comming soon.
Lighting details: sb800 speedlight shot through umbrella triggered by on-camera flash (which was folded in order not to interfere with lighting on scene).
